During this year's Tokyo Game Show, Nintendo has taken the opportunity to release a brand-new trailer for Koei Tecmo and Omega Force's upcoming, and highly anticipated Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which introduces players to Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and Urbosa; the Champions of Hyrule.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a prequel to the critically acclaiemd The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, although this game is a hack and slash through and through, so the game will not be focusing on exploration this time around; it's all about the action.
Those who have played the first Hyrule Warriors will know that Koei Tecmo's Omega Force know how to tell a compelling story, which is what makes Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity so appealing, since one of the complaints that fans had with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was that the story didn't focus on the Champions.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild does have a proper story, but Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will definitely make the story its main focus, and the fact that we will get to know more about the Champions is definitely one of the game's main selling points — that and the fact that it is a prequel, that is in canon, mind you — to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
This new story trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is introducing players to the Champions, but we also see a mysterious Sheikah warrior that is accompanying Link and Zelda. Could this mysterious warrior be a younger version of Impa? Whatever the case, it will definitely be interesting to see the developers adding more characters to the game.
