Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Ad in London Sparks Frenzy With “OUT NOW” Message

Nintendo fans have been waiting since 2017 for any substantial update on Metroid Prime 4, and now, an advertisement in London may have just set off the biggest rumor mill yet. A massive poster for the game at Oxford Circus Station features the text “OUT NOW,” igniting speculation that Nintendo could be preparing a surprise shadowdrop for the long-awaited title. Check out the poster down below:

This follows years of silence, delays, and a full development reboot in 2019. The game was finally re-confirmed earlier this year under the title Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and was shown at the June Nintendo Direct with a 2025 release window. No official launch date has been announced yet making this ad all the more puzzling.

A Real Ad, Not a Photoshop

The ad was first reported on Reddit, where the original poster uploaded multiple photos of the banner from various angles to prove its authenticity. The images appear legitimate, dispelling any suspicions that it could be a fan-made Photoshop hoax.

Still, there’s no indication on the Nintendo eShop or official channels that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is available yet.

Shadowdrop Speculation Begins

The key phrase “OUT NOW” has fueled intense speculation, especially considering Nintendo’s previous track record. In February 2023, Metroid Prime Remastered was announced and released on the same day, completely without warning.

Some fans believe this might be another intentional shadowdrop moment, designed to drive buzz and instant sales. Others theorize it’s an unfortunate advertising error perhaps the space was supposed to be covered by a “COMING SOON” or release-date sticker that hasn't been applied yet.

Nintendo has not yet commented on the situation.

Why Fans Are Taking This Seriously

Metroid Prime 4 has been in development for nearly eight years.

Shadowdrops are not unprecedented for the franchise.

The timing so close to Nintendo's summer showcase adds plausibility.

Whether this is a genuine launch tease or a blunder remains to be seen, but fans are on high alert. With the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 having just arrived this year, many had already expected Metroid Prime 4: Beyond to play a major role in closing out the Switch’s lifecycle.

For now, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond remains unavailable, but don’t be surprised if it suddenly appears on digital storefronts. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time Nintendo dropped a major game without warning and fans are clearly more than ready. Are you ready for it to arrive?

Harness Samus Aran's new psychic abilities to survive the mysterious planet of Viewros and find a way home when Metroid Prime 4: Beyond comes to Nintendo Switch in 2025.
