2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and in celebration of the milestone, Super Evil Megacorp will be releasing their award-winning game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, on Nintendo Switch this summer.
The announcement was made during Nintendo's Indie Showcase earlier today.
Developed by Super Evil Megacorp, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released for the Apple Arcade in 2023. In this roguelike action-adventure game, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo must travel through reality-bending portals to rescue their kidnapped master, Splinter.
Each of the four playable turtles has their signature weapons, unique abilities and combat style, as well as customization options to further specialize their moveset. While Donatello's staff allows for more range in his attacks, Raphael has a higher chance of dealing critical damage.
Each run will offer players a chance to enhance their abilities with power-ups. After clearing each room, players can choose from a variety of Turtle Powers to customize their moveset and create devastating combos. However, in roguelike fashion, these powers reset after each run.
Additional customization options are available at the Turtles' sewer home where players can spend in-game currency earned during these runs on permanent upgrades called Artifacts.
Featuring Super Evil’s unique, fluid combat style mixed with strategic and surprising roguelike gameplay, the result is a fresh Turtles experience with scores of replayability. The game features fast-flowing combat, a diverse build system that will allow players to build the elemental infused Teenage Turtle of their dreams, bodacious co-op capabilities, and improved visual design, graphics and audio quality. Set across four unique New York City environments, the game keeps TMNT fans enthralled from start to finish, as players encounter familiar allies, tons of easter eggs and references across collectibles and narrative, and encounters with iconic bosses including, of course, the mutant duo Bebop and Rocksteady and archenemy Shredder.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate was originally released on the Apple Arcade for iOS devices. The game received critical acclaim, including more than 22,000 perfect 5/5 player reviews. The game's arrival on Nintendo Switch this summer marks developer Super Evil Megacorp's console debut. The award-winning, independent studio are also known for creating Vainglory (2014-2020) and Catalyst Black (2022).
“At Super Evil we aspire to make incredible shared gaming moments, and we are very excited to bring Splintered Fate to Switch to allow more players to play together with family and friends both at home and on the go,” said Ian Fielding, Studio Head of Super Evil Megacorp. “We’re looking forward to collaborating with Paramount Game Studios in delivering many more updates and thrills as part of our long term commitment to the game and our players. Splinter missing is just the start!”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate releases for Nintendo Switch this July. A specific date has not been announced.
