With the COVID-19 pandemic still taking its time to move on from the world, many people have been finding various ways to keep themselves entertained while in quarantine. Because of this, the video made industry has seen some of its largest earnings in years. Nintendo has especially seen a rise in its sales as the life simulator game Animal Crossing: New Horizons released just as the pandemic began to spread.
The influx of Switch sales because of the game helped expand the player base in ways that could not have been expected. As the year has progressed, multiple seasons and holidays have passed that have included summer, 4th of July, autumn, and Halloween, to name a few. With the winter update only a couple of days away, it's time for new experiences to come to players.
A new trailer has started streaming for the upcoming winter update for the game that features a couple of new holiday guests for Thanksgiving and Christmas, complete with a town feast and gift-giving! More quality of life updates are also on the way, including storage expansion and save data transfers between different Switches.
