Devil Engine is a new 2D side scrolling shoot 'em up game developed by Protocult Games and published by DANGEN Entertainment, coming out for the Nintendo Switch and Steam.

Much like other games in the genre, the developers of Devil Engine have chosen to go with hand drawn pixel art that mimics classic shoot 'em up games of yesteryear, as well as featuring a wide variety of locations.

Devil Engine will also encourage players to keep playing the game and try to rack up points in order to unlock more ship, additional music, and even more stages; considerably increasing the game's replay value.

Protcult Games' new shoot 'em up game is also featuring a pulse-pounding soundtrack by Hyakutaro Tsukumo, who is the man responsible for Technosoft's Thunderforce V on the Sega Saturn.

As Devil Engine has just become available, we get a brand-new trailer showing off some of that classic shoot 'em up action, as well as that fantastic sountrack by Hyakutaro Tsukumo.

Take a look:

A last ditch effort to destroy what was once to be our savior. A final mission to eliminate a disastrous future. A single ship against Earth’s entire military. The Andraste is the only hope to defeat...the Devil Engine.

Devil Engine is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
