Mechstermination Force is an upcoming 2D action game developed by Swedish developer Bertil Hörberg, the same person who developed the critically praised Gunman Clive.

Hörberg describes Mechstermination Force as the perfect mix of Contra and Shadow of the Colossus, where players take control of heavily armed soldier and will have to take down some giant robots by focusing on their vulnerable spots and climb their way up to defeat this viscious mechas.

Mechstermination Force will also allow players to take down these giant robots with a friend in classic couch Co-op mode. The game is not a platformer, though; it's more of a boss rush, although climbing the mechas does involve some platforming.

The announcement trailer for Hörberg's Mechstermination Force brims with action, but it lacks a tentative release date. Hopefully the game will end up coming out this year, as Hörberg himself has stated that there's only a few more months left of development.

Take a look:

Join the Mechstermination Force and save the world from the gigantic MegaMechs! Battle against massive bosses, jump and climb onto them to find their weak spots and blow them to kingdom come in this action packed platforming boss rush, from the creator of the Gunman Clive series.

Mechstermination Force still doesn't have an official release date.
