A few days ago, we got an announcement trailer for
Mechstermination Force — a 2D action game inspired by
Contra and
Shadow of the Colossus — which is developed by Bertil Hörberg; the Swedish developer behind the acclaimed
Gunman Clive series.
The developer has made clear that, although it may look like it at times,
Mechstermination Force is not a platformer per se, but more of a boss rush type of game; where players will be taking down giant robots who have turned against humanity.
As if the fact that the same developer that created the
Gunman Clive series wasn't enough to sell you on
Mechstermination Force, Hörberg has recently revealed that players will also be able to play as Gunman Clive; although there is one caveat.
According to Hörberg, players who already own the
Gunman Clive HD Collection on the Nintendo Switch will be granted immediate access to
Gunman Clive's, well, Gunman Clive — when the game releases this spring. With Gunman Clive joining the roster,
Mechstermination Force already features 5 playable characters — although Hörberg reassures that they all play exactly the same.
We still don't know if Gunman Clive will also be available for players who don't own the
Gunman Clive HD Collection, but fans of the western shooter probably already own at lest one of the previous games any way. Regardless, this is still great news for both fans of
Gunman Clive series and players who are anticipating
Mechstermination Force.
Join the Mechstermination Force and save the world from the gigantic MegaMechs! Battle against massive bosses, jump and climb onto them to find their weak spots and blow them to kingdom come in this action packed platforming boss rush, from the creator of the Gunman Clive series.
Mechstermination Force still doesn't have an official release date.
