The Nintendo Switch has proven itself to be an ingenius and profitable, versatile console since it officially launched back in March 2017.
With the device's third birthday right around the corner; many were expecting Nintendo to reveal their plans for the future of the platform sometime soon. Since before the Nintendo Switch Lite even released back in September 2019; rumours have been floating around that Nintendo are working on a more powerful iteration of the Switch — the tantalising Nintendo Switch Pro.
Insiders and the like have purported their belief that Nintendo would release an updated version of the Switch during 2020 and toss their hat into the ring of the impending console war — what with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X launching in Holiday 2020. However, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa recently declared that the company isn't planning anything of the sort.
"Regarding Nintendo Switch, we believe that it is important to continue to communicate the appeal of both Nintendo Switch systems and expand the installed base," Furukawa said in an official financial document —
