The Nintendo Switch became a hit almost overnight. After its reveal back in October of 2016, Nintendo's new handheld hybrid console seemed to have become the main topic amongst gamers, as well as longtime fans of The Big N.
One of the things that Nintendo did make very clear, though, was that the Switch would be treated, first and foremost, as a gaming console; shutting down speculation about their new device featuring any kind of streaming dservices like Netflix or YouTube, or at least at launch.
While the Nintendo Switch already added Hulu in November of 2017, it currently remains as the only streaming app on Nintendo's console. Almost two years after the reveal of the console, and a whole year after Hulu released for the Switch, it seems that Nintendo may be adding YouTube as soon as this week. A new rumour has been going around online which seems to confirm that a YouTube app will be added on the 8th of November.
The information comes from NintendHOME, which posted on Twitter a screenshot taken from the Nintendo of America site, which showed the YouTube app and the alleged release date. Upon visiting the Nintendo of America w esite and typing in 'YouTube' on the search bar, the only two resolts that show up are YouTube for Wii U and YouTube for the Nintendo 3DS, so even if Nintendo mistakenly added the Nintendo Switch YouTube app, it is nowhere to be found right now; so take this rumour with a pinch of salt.
