Back in November, the official Twitter account for Sega of Japan announced that they would be releasing
Out Run on the Nintendo Switch as part of their
Sega Ages series — which had already released
Sonic the Hedgehog and
Lightening Force: Quest for Darkstar.
Unlike Japan that got
Out Run in November of 2018, we knew that the game would be coming out early in 2019 for Europe and the Americas, but that could've meant pretty much any of the first months of the year.
Today, and completely out of nowhere, Sega released a fast-paced, and charming launch trailer for
Sega Ages'
Out Run, letting fans of the classic Sega Genesis/Mega Drive racing title know that the game is currently available for them to purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Keep an eye out as we announce more quality classic ports coming to Switch like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Out Run, Space Harrier, Columns II and Thunder Force AC, and of course, Phantasy Star.
Out Run is available for the Nintendo Switch today.
