New Super Mario Bros. U was one of the launch titles for Nintendo's Wii U console back in 2013. Much like the previous titles in the
New Super Mario Bros. series, this game has some fun and colourful levels for players to go through as they head for Bowser's castle to save the princess.
Because the Wii U was such a failure for Nintendo, the company has been porting some of the best games that released for the Wii U on the Nintendo Switch, and
New Super Mario Bros. U definitely qualifies as one of those games that didn't get the attention that deserved due to the console's poor sales.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is pretty much the same game as the original but with some added features that keep things fresh for players who have already played the Wii U version. The
Deluxe edition of the game is including New Super Luigi U, which is a redesigned version of the core game but with Luigi as the main protagonist, not to mention a whole lot more difficult than
New Super Mario Bros. U.
ANother addition to
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is the inclusion of Toadette, instead of the generic blue Toad, and she can even power up into a clone-ish version of Princess Peach, and IGN has recently released a 15-minute gameplay video in which they play the first couple of levels, as well as the first castle.
