WARFRAME's Lotus Is Joining SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE As A Spirit
As part of the "Spirits in Black" event, Warframe's Lotus, the mysterious guide for the Origin System, will be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an Enhanceable Spirit.
The Super Smash Bros. franchise is no stranger to guest appearances from outside of Nintendo's portfolio of characters, but this new cross-over is certainly an unexpected one. Lotus, the mysterious figure who guides Tenno in Warframe, is making her debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate via the next Spirit Board event.
The "Spirits in Black" event kicks off on February 28 and runs until March 4. To acquire her, you'll have to face off against Bayonetta.
Lotus is a two-star Advanced Neutral, Primary spirit, meaning she'll add to your fighter's stats (attack and defense). The reveal tweet confirmed that Lotus is an Enhanceable Spirit, so once she hits level 99, she will upgrade into a more powerful spirit with better stats. She'll also come with three open slots.
Warframe isn't normally a game many would consider for a cross-over with Super Smash Bros., but the third-person, co-op action game did arrive on Nintendo Switch in late 2018. It has since amassed a stable player base on the platform and Lotus, as one of the game's more recognizable NPC characters, looks to be an interesting addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Back in January, Nintendo announced a second Fighter Pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It will add six more fighters, although it has not yet been announced who they will be.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Warframe are both available on Nintendo Switch.
