IKARUGA For The Nintendo Switch Seems To Have Been Teased By The Developers Of The Game

Ikaruga may be coming to the Nintendo Switch, sometime soon, as the developers tweet an intriguing photo of the Nintendo handheld with a reflection of the game on the screen.

Ikaruga is a vertically-scrolling shoot 'em up released in the early 2000s by Sega and developer Treasure. A couple of weeks ago, we found out that that the USK had rated Ikaruga on their site and that the game was coming to the PlayStation 4.

Now it may be the Nintendo Switch's turn as developer Treasure tweeted a photo of the Nintendo Switch with the reflection of an Ikaruga poster on the screen. Both Nintendo Switch consoles on the photo seem to suggest that the game will be able to be played horizontally as well as vertically. Given that the game was always meant to be played vertically, it seems fitting they'd be offering players the choice of playing the game in vertical mode on their Nintendo Switch.

According to IGN, the tweet addresses the fact that the vertical mode comes up "a little short" on the Nintendo Switch screen. That said, the game's probably very early in development and Treasure will likely work a way around the issue before officially announcing Ikaruga for the Switch.
