Japan Gets All the Cool Stuff, Including This Ridiculous Controller by SQUARE ENIX!

Square Enix is revisiting their PS4 Dragon Quest Hori controller, only this time it's for the Nintendo Switch and will be rolled out in Japan with Dragaon Quest XI S.

Dragon Quest fans be on the lookout, it's time for another wacky controller from Square Enix. Previously released for PS4 in 2017, Hori will now also be available as a Nintendo Switch controller, complete with a cardboard box treasure chest that doubles as a stand/holder-of-sorts for the Switch itself.

But wait, there's more!

Hori comes with all the functionality of a legitimate Pro Controller. Too often controllers themed after beloved video game characters don't come with all the desired features, like force feedback or motion control, thereby resulting in candy-colored, handheld disappointment. Fortunately, Square Enix didn't stop at aesthetics, and Hori the slime monster will come with all the bells and whistles.

Less fortunate, perhaps, is that Hori the Pro Controller will only be available in Japan. For now, at least. Of course, there's always Ebay...

In the meantime, Dragon Quest XI S will be available on Nintendo Switch everywhere on September 27th!
