Nintendo has, once again, surprised all of his fans by making
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and
Nintendo Labo compatible—allowing players to use the
Variety Kit's Motorbike creation as a nifty steering wheel.
When Nintendo first showed off the
Labo Variety Kit, they had the one minigame in which players could drive a bike by using the Motorbike creation as the steering wheel, which made everyone wonder how far could they actually take this in terms of game immersion.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is such an obvious choice that the
Toy-Con Motorbike creation feels like it was almost purposely made to replace the classic Wii steering wheel used in
Mario Kart Wii.
Today, Nintendo has just revealed that
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and
Nintendo Labo are compatible and is currently available as a free update. The
Variety Kit Toy-Con Motorbike creation allows players to control each and every single one of the in-game vehicles featured in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, across all game modes—making for a way more interactive and immersive experience.
Up to 4 players can use their own
Toy-Con Motorbike creation when playing locally at the same time. Players will also be able to either attach their Nintendo Switch to the
Toy-Con Motorbike creation, or simply play in TV Mode like they normally would and still use the
Toy-Con creation to control the vehicles. In order to use the Motorbike steering wheel, players need to select the
Nintendo Labo icon on the
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe menu and they'll be ready to go.
