The Outer Worlds is an role-playing game from Obsidian Entertainment that recently released. It has garnered quite a few comparisons with the
Fallout games for its similar aesthetic and overall feel — which makes sense as its made by a lot of the same people who originally worked on the
Fallout franchise.
The open-world game has received a warm welcome from players and become quite acclaimed in the short time that it has been available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A couple of months ago, it was
confirmed that The Outer Worlds would also release for the Nintendo Switch. A precise date wasn't stated but it was said that the port would come after the game's initial October launch.
Here we are after that and Obsidian has confirmed that
The Outer Worlds won't be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch this year. Instead, players of Nintendo's portable and versatile console will have to wait until some time in 2020.
This information comes courtesy of a new report by
Nintendo Everything. Unfortunately, simply saying that the game will come to the Switch next year isn't an exact release date but at least it's closer to one.
The Outer Worlds is out now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC — and will release for the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
