Nintendo's highly anticipated
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is only a bit over a week ago from releasing. Fans have been anxiously, and patiently waiting for this new entry in Nintendo's iconic crossover party fighting game, and have tried their best to avoid spoilers online.
Unfortunately for some of these fans, tonnes and tonnes of information about
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has leaked online, and Nintendo is doing everything within their reach to keep this massive leak from spreading and spoiling more fans.
The news comes from Ars Technica, who reports that the very first leak for the game came from a post released this past Wednesday on 4Chan, which showed an image of the alleged retail packaging for
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which suggested that the game was being sold earlier at some retailers in Mexico.
It all went downhill from there as pirated versions of the game's date was leaking and making its way onto the Internet. The main problem became when popular Twitch and YouTube streamers began streaming the game. This has cause Nintendo to go on a copyright-claiming spree.
The problem gets worse as the same people who have managed to get ahold of one of these pirated copies of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate have been datamining the game in order to find out which characters will be coming out as DLC once the game has already launched. Not only that but they have also been spoiling the full list of tracks, giving away all of the 900 pieces of music that the game is featuring; causing the fans' frustration due to these leaks spoiling the experience for them.
It really is a shame when stuff like this happens but at least Nintendo is trying to do something about it. For some fans, however, getting content like this spoiled for them isn't a big deal, but the fact that it is spoiling a vocal bunch of people is certainly disappointing.
