A day before Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released, Nintendo teased that Joker, from Atlus' acclaimed role-playing series 'Persona', was going to be joining the game's massive roster as the first character part of the Fighters Pass.

For the longest time, however, fans didn't get any news about Persona 5's Joker, not even an official trailer that showed him in action.

The closest thing fans got was an accidental reveal of the character's render thanks to Best Buy; other than that, fans were still wondering if Joker would actually end up becoming available in April, as was originally announced, or not.

Today, Nintendo has finally, and officially, given us our first look at Persona 5's Joker in action, his stage, and a release date that will see Joker joining the fight tomorrow, on the 17th of April.

Armed with his trusty knife and gun, Joker is ready to take on any challenger that crosses his path. Nintendo also reveals that his up special is the grappling hook, which can be aimed diagonally and even latch on to edges to make a quick comeback.

It is worth mentioning that players who haven't purchased the Fighters Pass can still get Joker from the Nintendo Switch eShop for $5.99 MSRP. The All Challengers Fighters Pass is currently on sale at $24.99 MSRP, for players who want to get every character pack as soon as they are released.
