In December of last year, and just a mere day before
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate released worldwide, Nintendo revealed that Joker, from Atlus'
Persona 5, would be joining the roster of Nintendo's acclaimed crossover fighting series.
This, of course, had a bunch of fans of the
Persona series excited; even when the character wasn't part of the game's original roster, but the first fighter to be revealed for the
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass.
With Joker's announcement, Nintendo also released a trailer but, unlike previous character reveals, we didn't get to see the character in action — since Nintendo released an animated trailer in the style of the
Persona series.
As it turns out, we now may have gotten our very first at Joker's render in
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as Best Buy accidentally revealed in one of their latest ads for the game; in what also seems to be our first look at Joker's amiibo.
Nintendo has revealed that
Persona 5's Joker will become available at some point near the end of April, so we will soon be getting a new trailer, as well as an official release date, and maybe even our first look at the character's amiibo.
Legendary game worlds and fighters collide in the ultimate showdown—a new entry in the Super Smash Bros. series for the Nintendo Switch system! New fighters, like Inkling from the Splatoon series and Ridley from the Metroid series, make their Super Smash Bros. series debut alongside every Super Smash Bros. fighter in the series…EVER!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
