Microsoft is kicking off 2025 with some new additions to Xbox Game Pass. Six new games are being added to the subscription service's library, one of which is already available today.
Road 96, a "crazy, beautiful road-trip," returns to the library and is available for both Game Pass Standard and Game Pass Ultimate, as well as PC Game Pass. The description reads:
On this risky road trip to the border, you’ll meet incredible characters and discover their intertwined stories and secrets in an ever-evolving adventure. But every mile opens a choice to make. Your decisions will change your adventure, change the people you meet, and maybe even change the world.
Four additional games are coming to Game Pass Standard on January 8th: Lightyear Frontier (Game Preview for Xbox Series X|S), My Time at Sandrock (Console), Robin Hood - Sherwood Builders (Xbox Series X|S), and Rolling Hills (Console).
Lightyear Frontier is an open-world farming exploration game with crafting, resource management, and base-building. Playable with up to three others in online co-op, you'll discover and cultivate alien planets, build a home, and explore a "mystery-driven narrative."
My Time at Sandrock is a farm life sim role-playing game. Serving as a sequel to 2019's My Time at Portia, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world 300 years after the Day of Calamity destroyed most modern technologies. The game challenges you to "Gather resources to build machines, befriend locals, and defend Sandrock from monsters — all while saving the town from economic ruin!"
Robin Hood - Sherwood Builders is an action-adventure RPG with base-building elements. Taking on the role of the classic hero, you'll fight, craft, and steal to help the local people grow and prosper. Rounding out this week's additions is Rolling Hills, a life sim in which you run a restaurant in a cozy village.
While all five of these games will be available on Game Pass Standard, two additional games arriving next week are only available for Game Pass Ultimate. EA Sports UFC 5 will be available on January 14 for Cloud and Xbox Series X|S along with Diablo on PC.
UFC 5 is the latest installment in EA's mixed martial arts fighting game franchise. The game will arrive on Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play with all members also able to get the Bruce Lee Bundle for free until February 11th.
Rounding out January's Game Pass update is Diablo. Blizzard's groundbreaking action RPG will be playable on PC. Some of the mechanics may feel dated, especially as Blizzard has fine-tuned the game over the years, but it's undoubtedly a must-play classic for those who weren't born back when it was first released in 1997.
Unfortunately, a new batch of arrivals means some games are leaving the Game Pass library. Six games will no longer be offered through Game Pass beginning January 15:
