In January of this year, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak, and Nintendo hosted a Nintendo Direct presentation that focused on nothing but the new Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, revealing some interesting details about the expansion pass, and what it would be including.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield's expansion pass introduced players to The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra, with the first part of the expansion pass releasing in June, and giving players a tonne of new content to jump back in, and start catching some new Pokémon.

The Crown Tundra was obviously saved for later, with The Pokémon Company not even hinting at a release window for part two of the game's expansion pass, but still managing to keep players excited for what's to come.

Today, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have released a lengthy new video for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, which has revealed quite a bunch of new details about The Crown Tundra, and there is actually quite a bit to go over, so let's jump right in.

For starters, it has been officially announced that The Crown Tundra will become available for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass owners on Thursday the 22nd of October, and it's bringing back some new Pokémon from previous entries in the series.

As if that wasn't enough, The Crown Tundra is also bringing with it every single Legendary Pokémon introduced in past games, although it is important to note that, in classic Pokémon fashion, some of these will be exclusive to either Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield.

Things can only get better from here, and they do, as The Pokémon Company has also revealed that Pokémon Sword + Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield + Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass will get a physical release that is expected to launch on Friday the 6th of November.

As the name very appropriately suggests, the aforementioned titles will be including both The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra Expansion Pass for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. The best news is that both are included in one game card; no download codes.

To celebrate the release of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield's The Crown Tundra expansion, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have announced that some special Pikachu with varied hats will be added to the game, which players can obtain via some passwords that the developers will be revealing at a later date.

Take a look:

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be set in Galar, an expansive region with many environments—idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon live together in this region, and they’ve worked together to develop the industries here.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
