Nintendo has rolled out update Ver. 1.0.1 for the recently released Super Mario Bros. 35, which has fixed some issues that will enhance the experience for players. Unfortunately, however, it is not yet clear whether this update has addressed the infamous coin exploit that has recently been reported.
As a quick refresher, hackers have found the way to get an infinite number of coins in Super Mario Bros. 35, which allows them to get the upper hand when challenging other players during online matches. Coins give players items that make enduring these crazy levels a lot easier, and players having access to an infinite number of coins simply ruins the experience for others.
This is even more aggravating when we factor in that Super Mario Bros. 35 was released exactly a week ago, and there are already players who have hacked the game. What's more, this game will only, at least for now, be available until the 31st of March, and these kind of issues, this early on, are concerning.
One of the issues that Update Ver. 1.0.1 has fixed will prevent enemies from randomly appearing on any of the current screens the players is on. Now enemies will only spawn when the player begins to move through the stage. Similarly, Ver. 1.0.1 has fixed an issue in which the players' icons would not be displayed properly in Coin Ranking; a minor fix, for sure, but still addressed.
Ultimately, it will be players who let us know whether the coin exploit has been fixed or not. Hopefully this is the case, as it is definitely the only real problem that ruins the experience for those unfortunate players who come across hackers with an infinite number of coins.
Each player is given the same timed stage, but you must defeat enemies to earn extra time and attack your opponents. Don’t forget to pick up some coins on your way—they can be used to get in-game items like power-ups. With speed, skill, and strategy, you could be the last Mario standing.
Super Mario Bros. 35 will be available for the Nintendo Switch from Thursday the 1st of October until Wednesday the 31st of March, 2021.
