The Super Mario Maker series is one of Nintendo's most creative ideas in recent years, and that is saying a lot considering that the company is always striving to deliver creative and innovative content that is — unsurprisingly, at this point — not even restricted to video games.
When Nintendo announced Super Mario Maker 2, fans were legitimately excited to see the series making its way onto the Nintendo Switch, and giving them countless hours to play levels made by creatrs all over the world, or even design their own levels to share with others.
Super Mario Maker 2 released in June of last year, and in a mere two days after its launch, Nintendo announced that the popular level-making 2D platformer had already sold a very impressive 2.4 million copies worldwide — which is a testament to the series' ongrowing popularity.
Nintendo has been continuously updating Super Mario Maker 2 in order to give players the best experience possible, and they even expanded the amount of courses players could upload to 100, as they celebrated that players had uploaded 10 million courses as of January.
Just recently, Nintendo has revealed that over a staggering 20 million courses have been uploaded by the community in Super Mario Maker 2; no new update to celebrate, though, but this is stil lgreat news for players, who now have over 20 million levels to play.
In April of this year, it was revealed by Nintendo that Super Mario Maker 2 was getting one major final update, and that no more content would be added to the game in the future. Considering that this year is Mario's 35th anniversary, it is very likely that we could still see a few surprises down the line. With that said, the game is still pretty much perfect as it is right now.
