Boss Key Productions was a videogame development studio based in Raleigh, North Carolina, that was founded in 2014 by Cliff Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee. Both, Bleszinski and Brussee have been in the industry for quite some time, participating in companies like Epic Games (
Gears of War), and Guerilla Games (
Killzone).
Recently, Boss Key Productions had worked on
Lawbreakers, and
had recently released Radical Heights, which is a
Battle Royale type of game in the likes of
Fortnite and
Overwatch.
After only four years, Cliff Bleszinski has announced, via a post on Twitter, that Boss Key Productions is shutting down. In the post he thanks, and praises the people he's worked with over the years, as well as mentioning that
Lawbreakers failed to gain trction, and that their last attempt,
Radical Heights, was received well but too little too late. As for himself, he just wants to take some time off and reflect, focusing on his family and himself.
Fans of
Radical Heights willstill be able to keep playing the game as the servers for the game will still remain up. It is always sad to see these kinds of things happen but at least Bleszinski seems to know what he wants and how to do it, so hopefully it'll all turn out fine for him, Brussee, and everyone that was involved with Boss Key Productions.
