Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was first revealed during Sony's press conference at the 2016 E3, making a lot of longtime fans of the character ecstatic for the announcement.

The N. Sane Trilogy is a collection that includes remasters of the first three games in the Crash Bandicoot series, which were initially developed by Naughty Dog—who later gave the rights to Activision; thus ceasing Sony Entertainment's exclusivity.

Regardless of Crash Bandicoot games being released on other consoles, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was first announced as a Sony exclusive that was finally released in June of 2017—getting praise from gamers and critics alike.

Back in March of this year, Activision announced that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy would be released for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC—and this is where things get interesting as the game has managed to sell surprisingly well all over the world; but more specificlly in the United Kingdom.

We've carefully followed this news over the course of the weeks since the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was released on the 29th of June of this year, leading the UK Charts from the minute it released for Switch, Xbox One, and PC.

What's even more interesting is that the game has been able to stay relevant ever since, and it has managed to stay in the number 1 spot for a staggering 8 weeks straight. Tomorrow the game will have been out for 9 weeks, being completely undefeated by other titles that have come out since.

Before Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, the other title that had managed to stay in the number 1 position for more than 4 weeks was Santa Monica's God of Warwhich was able to stay in the number 1 spot for 5 weeks straight. Prior to God of War, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us was the current record holder, managing to lead the UK charts for 6 weeks straight.

Crash Bandicoot games had not been too popular among longtime fans of the series, at least not in recent years. Some players have complaint about the games losing the charm and wit that Naughty Dog gave the character, as well as the original games, so it's nice to see the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy doing this well—even if these charts don't quite give us a real estimate of how well the game is doing in other continents.

Whatever the case, there sure is a lot of demand for Crash Bandicoot titles, especially if they are faithful to the originals. Let's just keep our fingers crossed for Activision and Vicarious Visions to take note of this and bring the character back to its roots in future entries.
