Crash Bandicoot is a series of platformer games initially developed by Naughty Dog(
Uncharted,
The Last of Us) in conjunction with Universal Interactive Studios, and that originated on the first PlayStation back in 1996 as an exclusive title for Sony's console.
Since Naughty Dog had only signed to release three games, the rights then remained with Universal Interactive Studios and the games eventually stopped being a Sony exclusive and jumped to multiplatform. In 2016, a collection that included the first 3
Crash Bandicoot games was announced to come out for the PlayStation 4, this time developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision.
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy was released in June of 2017 for the PlayStation 4. The game included remastered versions of the original
Crash Bandicoot game,
Crash Bandicoot: Cortex Strikes Back, and
Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Featuring HD graphics, unified checkpoints(trust me, you'll need those), new pause menus and a new save system that finally let's you manually save the game, new time trials, and Crash's sister Coco is playable in most levels. The collection was also announced for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC and was supposed to release on the
10th of July.
Today Activision have officially announced that the release date for
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy was pushed forward and will no longer release on the 10th of July but two weeks earlier on the
29th of June! According to the post on the official
Activision Blog, the reaction that fans had to the news about the
N.Sane Trilogy coming to other consoles was that extra push they needed to get things done even faster. They have also announced that the game is already available for pre-orders through the official
Crash Bandicoot website.
