Last week, we found out that NetherRealm Studios' very own Ed boon, Co-creator of the popular Mortal Kombat series, would be attending this year's DC FanDome event, which led many fans to believe that a brand-new entry in the Injustice series could be announced.
Ever since Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe was released in 2008, Boon has been in charge of the Injustice series, directing both entries, and constantly featuring DC characters in Mortal Kombat games, so it isn't that much of a stretch to think that his presence at DC FanDome means that Injustice 3 will be announced.
Of course, Boon has been playing coy about the whole situation; if an announcement was to be made, he wouldn't want to ruin the surprise, and fans would also like to get surprised. However, it seems that the developers keep adding fuel to the rumour, and this time we may even have our first look at the unannounced title.
Earlier today, a poster was shared on Twitter by popular artist BossLogic, which could be our very first unofficial/official look at Injustice 3. The poster would also tease that DC's Watchmen will be part of the game's story, but this is also unconfirmed. BossLogic even retweeted this image to Ed Boon.
Things get even better as BossLogic even released another poster that could give us our first look at Doctor Manhattan in Injustice 3 — which, again, has yet to be officially confirmed by NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games; all points to this being more than just fanart, though.
BossLogic has previously done some stunts like this one. He was the man in charge of revealing the new setting for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and it wouldn't be far-fetched to think this is also the case with Injustice 3. We will have to wait until Saturday the 22nd of August, and see if the developers officially reveal the game during the DC FanDome event.
