Rocksteady, the studio behind the brilliant Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City games, may be working on a Superman title as new rumours make their way online.

Rocksteady is a British game developer studio that became a household name after they worked on the brilliant Batman: Arkham Asylum game back in 2009, and later released Batman: Arkham City, which to this day is considered one of the best superhero games ever made, if not the best.

Due to Rocksteady's huge success with the Batman franchise, it was only a matter of time until players started clamouring for a Superman game, especially since Superman games are infamous for being, simply put, horrible. The thing about it is that the studio has never confirmed to be working on another superhero game. And, for better or worse, that's when the rumours began.

Over the last couple of years there have been a lot of rumours circulating online and some of them claim to come from very valid, and trustworthy sources, but none of them has been able to prove their legitimacy.

That said, take this news with a pinch of salt since this time the source comes from an anonymous user on 4Chan, as reported by PlayStationLifeStyle.

The post suggests that the next Superman game is, indeed, being made by Rocksteady using Unreal Engine 4, features a semi-destructible Metropolis and a nerfed Superman ala Superman: The Animated Series. The post also shows a Superman concept art that has been going around online for a couple of years and has been said to be official concept art for the Rocksteady-made Superman game.

- Made by Rocksteady
- Unreal Engine 4
- Big open world Metropolis(about 3 times the size of Arkham Knight with a lot more buildings)
- Can't play as Clark Kent
- Main villain is Brainiac
- Nerfed Superman (TAS Levels)
- Semi-destructible environments(think AK, no buildings are falling over)
- Combat system integrates the flying (kind of like DBZ, you can punch someone then zoom towards them and repeat)
- Set within the Arkhamverse
- Tons of easter eggs to Superman's lore, and some to the events that took place in the Batman Arkham Franchise

Rocksteady and WB Montreal are also working on a joint multiplayer game (Hence the multiplayer hirings on Rocksteady's site). This is for a planned Justice League game down the road. They had to nail Superman first. Announcement should be incoming about a couple weeks before E3. (One of those "see more/gameplay at E3 type of reveals)

Again, take this news with a pinch of salt since none of these have ever been proven to be legitimate. Now, we know for a fact that Rocksteady is, indeed, working on a new game and have not revealed what it is just yet. What we know is that they have been doing the motion capture for it since January of this year, so it's now up to them to confirm or completely deny these rumours that have been going on for way too long.

Hopefully the leaks are true and fans finally get the Superman game they deserve, until then...all they have to do is wait for this year's E3 and hope Rocksteady finally announces that the highly anticipated Superman game fans have been clamouring for over the years is coming.
