It seems since his much publicized split with Konami, Hideo Kojima is turning into a respected film critic of sorts. He's weighed in on several recently released blockbusters including Ghost in the Shell, King Kong (which was directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts who is also attached to a live-action Metal Gear Solid film), Wonder Woman and now, Spider-Man: Homecoming. With Homecoming finally opening in Japanese theaters yesterday, it seems Kojima was one of the first to see it. Here's what he thought:
Spider-Man: Homecoming is expected to receive a sizable box office boost from Japan and China (where the film premieres in September) and will look to eclipse the $800 million worldwide benchmark.
