With Senua's Saga: Hellbalde II set to release later this month and the game now available for pre-order, developer Ninja Theory has revealed the finalized PC specs. If you're playing on Xbox Series X|S, you probably don't need to worry about this, but for those who prefer PC, here are the minimum, recommended and best system requirements.
Ninja Theory has broken it down into four basic settings: Minimum, Medium, Recommended, and Very High. The minimum requirements will get you the "Low" graphics preset at 1080p. Meanwhile, the Very High will get you the "High" graphics preset at 4K.
Now anyone familiar with Ninja Theory's previous games, knows that the developer likes to push the envelope with technology and graphical fidelity. Even the minimum requirements are more demanding than what you may expect from other PC games.
Interestingly, none of these specs include targeted FPS. We already know the Xbox version of Hellblade II will be locked at 30FPS with dynamic resolution. It's unclear if the PC version will do the same, although Ninja Theory does note that "higher framerates or resolutions can be achieved with the use of DLSS 3, FSR 3, or XESS 1.3." These may be necessary to reach the coveted 60FPS performance.
Senua's Saga: Hellbalde II is the sequel to 2017's action-adventure game. The original Hellblade is set in a dark fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology and Celtic culture. It follows Senua, a Pict warrior who attempts to make her way to Helheim to rescue the soul of her dead lover from the goddess Hela.
In the sequel, Senua returns "in a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland," the description teases. The full synopsis reads:
Intent on saving those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny, Senua faces a battle of overcoming the darkness within and without.
Sink deep into the next chapter of Senua’s story, a crafted experience told through cinematic immersion, beautifully realised visuals and encapsulating sound.
Senua's Saga: Hellbalde II will be released on May 21, 2024 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. It's currently available for pre-order on both platforms for $49.99. As a first-party Xbox title, it will be available for free for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers on launch day.
