NetEase has shared exciting new details for the upcoming Closed Alpha Test for Marvel Rivals.
The Closed Alpha Test for the highly anticipated super hero team-based shooter will kick off on Friday, May 10th at 5:00 p.m. PDT and will run until Monday, May 20th, at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
Spots will be limited as NetEase confirmed that only 30,000 players will be invited. For this test, only players in the United States and Canada — which NetEase notes have had the most sign-ups — will be selected.
"As a matchmaking-based multiplayer game, where duration, server physical distance, and time zones shape the battlefield, a test boasting 30,000 contenders finds its true home in a single region," NetEase explained.
Sign-ups for the test are still open and require you just answer a few questions about your prior gaming experiences. Players will be selected at random as long as they meet the recommended system specs:
*Recommended System Requirements:
Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

Additionally, three game modes will be available to play (Convoy, Domination, Convergence) across three different maps (YGGSGARD: YGGDRASILL PATH, YGGSGARD: ROYAL PALACE, TOKYO 2099: SHIN-SHIBUYA).
"During this test, we're aiming to sharpen the game modes, enhance gameplay, and validate all the technical nitty-gritty. Your feedback is what fuels our game's evolution, so we can't wait to hear your thoughts," NetEase writes.
NetEase has teased plans to expand upon the game with additional content updates that will include new heroes, additional maps, and exciting gameplay modes.
Marvel Rivals was announced last month as a team-based PvP shooter. The game has drawn comparisons to Blizzard's Overwatch, another popular team-based shooter.
The merciless clash between tyrannical dictator Doctor Doom and his future counterpart from the year 2099 has forced countless universes to collide in the Timestream Entanglement, creating new worlds and crises unknown.
Now, Super Heroes and Villains from across the multiverse must fight together and against one another as disparate groups each seek to best both Dooms before one achieves domination of these realities. Familiar faces become newfound foes while former enemies become the greatest of allies in Marvel Rivals!
Players will engage in fast-paced, 6v6 team-based battles across maps based on iconic locations with dynamic environmental destruction.
Marvel Rivals has only been announced for PC so far but there is speculation that it could come to additional platforms such as Xbox, PlayStation and possibly Nintendo Switch.
