Glowing reviews have led to incredible success for Capcom's Monster Hunter: World, which has reportedly shipped 5 million units worldwide - a series record for most units shipped in first three days. Monster Hunter World released on PS4 and Xbox One on Friday, with a PC version to be released at a later date.

Monster Hunter: World is the latest entry in the series and is the first new Monster Hunter title for home consoles in nine years.  Since its debut 14 years ago in 2004, the Monster Hunter series has grown into a mega-hit with cumulative sales of more than 45 million units worldwide as of January 28, 2018.

Capcom plans to support Monster Hunter: World over the long term through a number of free downloadable updates, which will include additional monsters among other content. The first major update will be arriving in Spring 2018 and will include the addition of the fan-favorite monster Deviljho.

Players will be able to put their hunting skills to the test against this brute. The Deviljho must feed constantly and will devour anything in its way, even feeding on the largest of monsters with its massive jowls. This wild beast really is one for only the bravest of hunters to take on!

Monster Hunter: World is now available on PS4 and Xbox One. Look out for the game on PC later this year.
