You've probably heard of Limbic Entertainment's Might & Magic X: Legacy and Tropico 6. The German studio has decided to abandon the RTS territory for a while and is currently working on a new IP, Memories of Mars (yes, it's a different project than Haemimont Games' Surviving Mars). It's going to be an online survival game set on the Red Planet, allowing you to try your luck and survive the experience.
There's a catch, as you play as a recently awoken clone who learns its lifespan is limited by solar flares that hit the surface of the planet every few weeks, which will successfully make your exploiting and colonizing Mars mission even harder. Death will be inevitable for even the most skilled players as the deadly solar flares wipe the surface of all life and player-made infrastructures on an ongoing basis.
505 Games and Limbic Entertainment will bring the hostile and desolated world of the Red Planet to earthbound players on June 5 with the Early Access launch of Memories of Mars on Steam for PC for $29.99/£23.99/€29,99 (depending on your region). Limbic will keep their communication channels open and will be working with the community to enhance the experience as they go. Check it out:
100 years in the future, something happened on Mars. Once frequently visited, it is now abandoned with some left behind. MEMORIES OF MARS is a open world survival game set on the abandoned mining operations in the red planet, as the dream of exploiting and colonizing Mars has proven impossible. You play as a recently awoken clone who learns its lifespan is limited by the lethal solar flares that hit the surface of the planet every few weeks. Tasked with surviving the barren wastelands of Mars, players must explore the unforgiving Martian terrain and build a habitable homestead while fighting off against a variety of dangers including strange enemies, harsh environmental elements and other human clone survivors.
Memories of Mars will hit Steam Early Accress on June 5, 2018.
