During the recent PAX East event, Gearbox finally dropped
the first official trailer for the long-awaited third instalment in the
Borderlands video-game series. While it certainly featured enough to quench fans' anticipation, it didn't reveal exactly when the game itself will be releasing - or did it?
A Reddit user, by the name of
Zottlepanda, recently made clear that they believe that they've discovered
Borderlands 3's release date within its aforementioned trailer.
Just under two minutes into the trailer, two frames feature some pretty blatant numbers: both a one and a ten (both of which bolster the same font, colour, and overall appearance). Even more interestingly, the ten is absent from a previous shot, almost as if the numbers were edited in after the fact.
Zottlepanda believes that the game will release on the first of October (rather than the tenth of January) as it would mark the popular series' tenth anniversary as well as take place on a Tuesday - which is arguably the most common day of the week for a video-game to launch on.
