Borderlands 3 is real and was just announced by Gearbox Software during their panel at PAX East 2019.

As a reminder, the highly anticipated video game leaked for the first time right before the start of E3 2018 in the infamous Walmart Canada placeholder (that apparently was "speculative in nature") and has been teased countless times ever since. Thankfully, nearly a year later, we now have the official confirmation that Borderlands 3 is in the works and might be released before the end of March 2020.

According to Gearbox, Borderlands 3 will feature a one-billion gun arsenal, which is a pretty major improvement, as Borderlands 2 allowed you to cause mayhem with "only" 17 million weapons. Fans of the previous Borderlands games should also be happy to see some familiar faces returning in the trailer, confirming that the likes of Lilith, Maya the Siren, and Zer0 will play a role in the upcoming title.
