Aspyr Media has issued a statement on Twitter confirming the disappointing news that the Restored Content downloadable content pack for the Nintendo Switch edition of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords will not be released.

Aspyr also posted on their website, stating, "Sadly, today we're announcing that the restored content DLC for the Nintendo Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords will not be moving forward for release."

Aspyr is making an attempt to recompense customers who purchased the game prior to the announcement in an effort to alleviate the sense of betrayal that this cancellation has produced within their community. For those that qualify, they will provide a free game to play on their Nintendo Switch. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast are some of the free games that are available to play. In addition, players have the option to obtain a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II Steam key as part of the package.

Individuals need to go to support.aspyr.com, make a request, and provide proof of purchase for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II in order to be eligible for the free game key.

In Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, the "Restored Content" DLC was initially a fan-voluntary effort to add missing content and repair technical faults. This is an important fact to keep in mind. Back in 2015, Aspyr Media gave its official blessing to proceed with this project.

In addition, Aspyr had been working on an updated version of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game in the past. However, according to reports, work came to a halt in August 2022 due to dissatisfaction from both Lucasfilm and Sony after an internal demo. Aspyr is no longer in charge of the development of the remake; instead, it is currently the responsibility of Saber Interactive.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is an RPG in a galaxy far, far away. It follows the critically acclaimed Knights of the Old Republic game. The Obsidian Entertainment and LucasArts game takes place some years after its predecessor.

Jedi Exiles, exiled Jedi Knights, play the Sith Lords. The Mandalorian Wars and the Sith Lords' impact are examined in the story. The game explores morality, the force, and consequences.

Players explore planets and meet new and familiar personalities. They choose whether the protagonist follows the bright or dark side.

The game's story is rich with plot twists and character development. Its strategic turn-based combat system lets players duel with lightsabers, wield Force powers, and create alliances or rivalries with friends.
