Earlier today, BetaDwarf developer, and publisher of Forced, Forced: Showdown, and their most popular game Minion Masters, revealed to the world their new and highly antcipated game, Vaultbreakers. It was previously known by a small circle as Project F4E.
Vaultbreakers is an exciting and promising new take on the ARPG, PvPvE, Extraction games we are all familiar with. The game will also have some MOBA mechanics that players may find familiar. Check out their official announcement trailer with a call for more playtesters down below.
There are a few key features that the game highlights for players to experience and enjoy:
- Reactive Gameplay: Missions evolve based on actions from players and NPCs, offering a fresh experience each time. Polluted areas, secret caves, and ancient rituals are just a few examples of what might unfold.
- Unpredictable Enemies: Face off against Changelings, a faction of shapeshifters controlled by advanced AI or other players. Will you attack, avoid, or align with these chaotic foes?
- High-Stakes Battles: Every attack is punishing but can all be avoided, and every enemy is vulnerable if you strike at the right moment. Outsmarting foes is as critical as overpowering them, so pick your fights carefully.
- Unique Playstyles: Choose from various Champions, unlock perks, craft items, and awaken Artifacts to tailor your abilities and enhance your gameplay.
- Rich Storytelling: Immerse yourself in the lore of the Vaultguard, an order sworn to protect the world from ancient darkness.
- Endless Challenges: Engage in quests, climb leaderboards, and tackle competitive challenges to prove your dominance.
When discussing what sets Vaultbreakers apart from the competition and why they think will succeed, members of the BetaDwarf team shared their insights.
"Vaultbreakers is set in an evolving world that challenges players to think tactically, adapt dynamically, and battle fiercely," said Steffen Kabbelgaard, CEO and Game Director at BetaDwarf. "With unpredictable events triggered by Changelings or other players—combined with a strong emphasis on player skill and knowledge—I believe we are delivering a fresh and innovative multiplayer ARPG experience."
Nikolaj Wendt, Lead Game Designer, highlighted the team’s motivation for why they created Vaultbreakers, emphasizing their desire to explore the extraction genre beyond traditional shooters:
"Many of us love the mechanics of extraction games, but the genre has been dominated by shooters. The problem? We’re not very good at them," Wendt explained. "Since there were no viable alternatives, we decided to create our own!"
With Vaultbreakers aiming to redefine and leave a mark in the extraction genre, players and curious gamers won't have to wait long to experience a small taste of the game. On January 31st, 2025, BetaDwarf will host an exclusive closed playtest.
