Originally released in the USA for Playstation Vita in July of this year, Accel World vs. Sword Art Online: Millenium Twilight will now be available September 12, 2017 for PC on Steam. This deluxe edition will include the main campaign, in addition to several DLC packs containing side stories "Castaway From Another World," "SAO origins" and "SAO Ordinal Scale".

Starring the Sword Art Online characters in their ALfheim Online fairy forms, a sudden urgent maintenence takes place in their VRMMO. Yui, the A.I. foster child of Asuna and Kirito, begins to act strangely just after the announcement, and wanders off. As Asuna and Kirito run after her, they encounter a mysterious machine-like life form by the name of Black Lotus. During their encounter,Yui is taken away by yet another unknown figure. This begins the cross-story between both virtual worlds.

This game features various characters from each series in a three party ground-sky combat system, allowing some characters to fight in the sky as well as ground. Like the previous Sword Art Online game Sword Art Online: Lost Song, the open-world will be similar to that of an mmorpg. Players will also be able to see the interaction between the two different series in sub-events and team customizations from both series.
