An unexpected announcement to come out of E3 2019 was that of a
Blair Witch video game — it being based on the popular horror movie franchise which kicked off back in 1999. It's clear that some inspiration has been taken from the likes of
Outlast,
Slender, and the
Resident Evil games — so, if you're a fan of those, this is likely something to look into.
In keeping with the scary roots of the movies; the
Blair Witch video game is one of horror as you assume the role of a man who ventures into an ominous forest in search of a missing person. You soon realise that there's more to the forest than natural laws would allow but you must continue nonetheless, only accompanied by your dog, Bullet.
Back at E3,
Blair Witch was announced as a Microsoft exclusive — only releasing for the Xbox One and Windows PC. However, Bloober Team has now announced a PlayStation 4 release for their horror title. With a new and blue trailer, the developer sets December 3rd as the date that PS4 players can join in on the spooks.
You can check out both that trailer and a gameplay one below (via
Bloober Team):
Blair Witch is available for the Xbox One, Windows PC, and will be coming to the PlayStation 4 on December 3rd, 2019.
