While
Death Stranding has been marketed as a proper PlayStation 4-exlusive title (akin to
Marvel's Spider-Man and
Horizon: Zero Dawn), Games Journalist Antonio Fucito has recently revealed that the Hideo Kojima-directed extravaganza will also be available on PC – but the port won't launch in 2019.
According to Fucito,
Death Stranding’s "
PlayStation 4 cover didn't have the "Only on PlayStation" label because Stranding is also coming to PC at a later date." Considering that Kojima Productions' big debut title is running on Guerrilla Games' Decima Engine, the PC port of said video game would definitely be a fascinating turn of events – as not a single PS4-exlusive title is currently playable on PC.
"
That's the deal between Kojima and Sony, it will be a timed PS4 exclusive and will be available on PC later on (won't launch for Xbox [One]), I don't know if it's a 6 or 12 months exclusive," he said. As a reminder, Fucito leaked the release date of
Stranding a whole day before its official announcement.
Given that
Death Stranding has just recently received an official release date (November 8th), we should learn a whole lot more about the story-driven open-world game in the coming weeks – but it's safe to say that Sony won't be promoting
Stranding as a timed exclusive – even if it indeed is one.
