Since 2012, Media Molecule has been working on
Dreams. It's not a video game in and of itself in the traditional sense but rather is more akin to a game engine. Basically, you'll be able to use
Dreams to make your own fantasy video games into a reality — as well as play those of others'. However,
Dreams will include a traditional story mode developed by Media Molecule themselves.
The highly anticipated game maker comes out on February 14th. However, if you purchased and have played the Early Access build of the game, you'll be able to get your hands on the full
Dreams experience from February 11th — three whole days prior to launch. It's said that the upgrade will become available at 12pm GMT on the aforementioned date (according to
IGN).
Similarly,
IGN were recently made privy to a preview of the above-mentioned traditional story mode that Media Molecule has put together. It's called
"Art's Dream," follows a character by the name of Art and explores a variety of different gameplay and art styles.
As is explained in the preview, Art's Dream is more so meant to serve as a showcase of just what you can accomplish in
Dreams if you put the time and effort in but will also tug on your heartstrings at times. Check it out for yourself below:
