Since some developers began to reveal that they would be releasing enhanced versions of their current-gen games on Sony's next-gen console, players have been wondering whether Sucker Punch's critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima would be getting the upgrade treatment.
While Sucker Punch won't be releasing a fully fledged remastered version of Ghost of Tsushima, the developer has recently announced that the game will be playable on the PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility — which, by the way, has been revealed to support almost the entirety of the PlayStation 4's library.
This also means that players will be able to transfer their progress made on the PlayStation 4 version of the game, to the PlayStation 5 once they boot up Ghost of Tsushima on their next-gen console.
Sucker Punch has also revealed that those who play Ghost of Tsushima on the PlayStation 5 will be benefited by the next-gen console's Game Boost feature, which the developer reassures will improve loading times, and even gives players an option that allows for frame rates to go up to 60FPS.
This doesn't confirm that the framerate will be stable, however, as the Game Boost feature will definitely allow for the game to go up to 60FPS, but Sucker Punch hasn't locked the framerate. With that said, Ghost of Tsushima looks and plays perfectly fine at 30FPS, but some players may be disappointed to know that it won't be locked at 60FPS; only capped.
