Ever since developer Sucker Punch announced Ghost of Tsushima, players have been dying to know more about this incredibly ambitious project, and the most recent State of Play presentation hosted by Sony has revealed a tonne of new details about the highly anticipated title.
Ghost of Tsushima will feature some heavy exploration, which is probably one of the most interesting aspects about the game, sicne Sucker Punch has given players a breathtakingly beautiful open world that looks so alive it might as well be considered a character in itself.
Some visual queues will help players navigate the game's massive open world, and some birds can even lead our main character Jin to points of interest. Once locations have been discovered, fast travel will be activated; helping players traverse through the game with ease.
Combat is the next item on Sucker Punch's list, and this is yet another one of the aspects in which Ghost of Tsushima shines. Precise one hit kills will be the game's bread and butter when it comes to fighting enemies, and players will eb able to switch between different fighting stances in order to effectively engage in battles.
Sucker Punch also demonstrates how players can engage the exact same group of enemies in a stealthy way, where they'll be able to quietly take down enemies without alerting others. Jin is armed with a bunch of items that he can use in order to confuse enemies, such as smoke bombs, and other artifacts that even help him traverse the area like the grapplinghook.
When it comes to customisation, Ghost of Tsushima allows players to fully customise Jin's appearance. More importantly, Jin's clothes aren't just cosmetics, as it will give players some mechnical advantages that will give them the upper hand in combat.
Sucker Punch doesn't disappoint when it comes to Photo Mode, and Ghost of Tsushima isn't the exception here. Players will be able to take some stunning photographs, or even make visually striking video clips.
Ghost of Tsushima is also giving players the chance to play the game completely in Japanese and with subtitles in their preferred language in order to keep the samurai experience as faithful as possible. For this reason, Sucker Punch has also revealed that they are adding a black and white filter that players can turn on at the beginning of the game to Ghost of Tsushima that classic Akira Kurosawa samurai movie feel.
