One of the many games that were revealed during the PlayStation 5 video game showcase was Kena: Bridge of Spirits; a new action-adventure game developed by independent studio Ember Lab that was announced as an exclusive title for PlayStation consoles.
The developers at Ember Lab did not reveal a specific release date for Kena: Brdige of Spirits, although it was expected to launch before the end of the year, and maybe, even, as a PlayStation 5 launch title. Unfortunately, this will no longer be the case.
Ember Lab has recently announced that they are pushing back the game's release date, and that Kena: Brdige of Spirits is now expected to launch for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at some point during the first quarter of 2021, which isn't that much of a delay, but it is still somewhat disappointing news.
As it is to be expected, since this has affected developers accross the globe, Ember Lab decided to delay Kena: Brdige of Spirits because of the difficulties they've encountered during the COVID-19 pandemic, and having to work from home — which has caused development itself to advance slower than originally expected.
Kena: Brdige of Spirits looks already like a fantastic game, and delays can only make the game look and play even better, so this delay is more than justified; after all, it is players themselves the ones that will benefit from a properly polished video game.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a story-driven action adventure set in a charming world rich with exploration and fast-paced combat. Players find and grow a team of tiny spirit companions called the Rot, enhancing their abilities and creating new ways to manipulate the environment.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is currently in development for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
