Sony's PlayStation Showcase was jam-packed of exciting announcements, and two of them came from Insomniac Games.
The first probably doesn't come as much of a surprise; Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is on the way. Following the release of Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales, Insomniac is ready to continue the adventures of Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Teased as "their most epic single-player adventure yet," it looks like our duo of web-slingers will face their toughest foe yet: Venom.
Most of the development team behind Marvel’s Spider-Man is returning of the sequel, including creative director Bryan Intihar and game director Ryan Smith. Tony Todd (Candyman) will be voicing Venom while Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter will be reprising their roles as Peter and Miles respectively.
For their second game, Insomniac will be staying within the Marvel universe and tackling another beloved hero: Wolverine. The announcement was accompanied with a teaser trailer that didn't reveal too much about the game but will likely excite fans anyway. The teaser takes us to a bar in the aftermath of a brawl. Logan appears to be sitting at the bar, and as a man approaches him with a knife, we see the adamantium claws come out.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is coming exclusively to PlayStation 5 consoles in 2023. Insomniac didn't announce a release window for Marvel's Wolverine, but we can assume it is early in development and will arrive afterwards. They also didn't announce platforms for it, but Insomniac is owned by Sony which likely means its another PS5 exclusive.
