Check Out This Side-By-Side Comparison For GOD OF WAR Played On A PS4, PS4 PRO And PS4 PRO Performance Mode

It is no secret that Santa Monica Studio have done their best to make God of War look like an outstanding achiievement in terms of graphics, music, gameplay and story. The game looks beautiful to the point that at times God of War looks like a movie instead of a game. You can tell that a lot of effort went into the visuals. When playing on the PS4 Pro players will be able to choose what's known as Performance Mode, that will allow them to get the most out of the game at, what looks to be, a solid 60FPS.

Most of the footage shown in the God of War trailers and behind-the-scenes are actually captured on the PlayStation 4 Pro, but how do the graphics compare when the game is running using Performance Mode or on the regular PlayStation 4? Is the FPS locked at 60, 50 or 30 depending on the console you play the game on?

Well, we don't have to wonder any more thanks to the people over at Candyland who have made a side-by-side comparison video showing you how the graphics for God of War on the PS4 measure up against the PS4 Pro and the PS4 Pro's performance mode. Not only that, but they also did an FPS test during, what looks to be, a graphically demanding fight between Kratos and a giant troll.

As seen on the video, God of War seems to be locked at a solid 30FPS on the PS4 and PS4 Pro, with an occasional frame drop on the Pro but nothing that ruins the experience. The PS4 Pro's performance mode, on the other hand, runs at a higher frame rate but doesn't quite hit the 60FPS mark often.

In terms of graphics, the PS4 Pro's Resolution Mode is the better looking, no contest there, but the differences aren't too abysmal and are only noticeable when you really try. It is fair to say that the game just looks that good on all 3 modes.

The verdict will probably be up to the player and whether they want higher resolution, a higher framerate or a stable one. The experience will, most likely, be great regardless of what console and mode you choose to play God of War on.

Take a look:

His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive…And teach his son to do the same. This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series—satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative—and fuses them anew.

God of War will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 when it releases on the 20th of April.
