The team at Santa Monica Studio sure have done their homework in bringing to life the Norse mythology for the next God of War game as they have released a mini series of 5 chapters that tell the story of the war between the gods.

The battling factions were the Aesir, from Asgard and led by Odin, and the Vanir, from Vanaheim led by Freyr. The miniseries tells the story of the First Great War and how Odin fought Freyr's army for centuries, how he prepared for the Ragnarok and how he created the most viscious weapon of unimaginable destruction known as Mjolnir, the mighty hammer that would later be passed down to his son Thor.

Check it out.

All these behind the scenes are really helping enrich the experience while we wait for the game to be released. God of War games have always been extremely thorough when focusing on the mythology they're based on and the way they present it and the upcoming God of War is not going to be any different. And I'm sure fans can't wait to see what Kratos does to bring peace to the realm of Norse Gods the only way he knows how.

His vengeance against the Gods of Olympus years behind him, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive…And teach his son to do the same. This startling reimagining of God of War deconstructs the core elements that defined the series—satisfying combat; breathtaking scale; and a powerful narrative—and fuses them anew.

God of War will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 when it releases on the 20th of April.
