During the
God of War promotion tour, director and writer Cory Barlog confirmed that he has at least five different ideas for Kratos' future. Barlog also revealed that he understands that it took the development team five years to create this year's
God of War and reiterated the desire to make the process faster, so it's rather safe to say that Santa Monica is already developing a
God of War sequel.
Cory Barlog has also revealed that he would like to make a smaller project alongside
GOW2 and it looks like Sony has greenlighted both of them, as Santa Monica is currently looking for Senior Control Designer, Senior Technical Animator, and many more. While nothing has been officially announced just yet, it looks like some people has already had a chance to take a look at at least one of those titles.
Duncan Jones, director the critically acclaimed
Moon and panned
WarCraft adaptation, has revealed on Twitter that Barlog "
turns out to be as sweet, thoughtful & intelligent as I’d grown to think he is from our online interactions." That's not the only interesting thing Jones said, as he added that "
if you think that God of War is his magnum opus, just you wait!" There's only one thing to say - how long, Cory?!
From Santa Monica Studio and creative director Cory Barlog comes a new beginning for God of War. Living as a man outside the shadow of the gods, Kratos must adapt to unfamiliar lands, unexpected threats, and a second chance at being a father. Together with his son Atreus, the pair will venture into the brutal Norse wilds and fight to fulfill a deeply personal quest.
God of War is available exclusively on PlayStation 4 NOW!
