The Last of Us Part II will be releasing exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on May 29th. Media Molecule's
Dreams will be releasing exclusively for the PlayStation 4 in just twelve days from now. It seems that one fan is anticipating the former to such a degree that they recreated it themselves using the latter.
Dreams is less so a game in the traditional sense and more so a tool for making games — many simple consider
Dreams a game engine in and of itself. Many have had access to
Dreams for about a year now and have been making some impressive sculptures, games, animations, and music tracks. The most recent of these to make rounds is a demake of
The Last of Us Part II — as mentioned.
A talented individual who goes by
Bearly Regal on Twitter and YouTube recently shared a video of what they believe
The Last of Us Part II would've looked like if it were to have released for the very first PlayStation console. You can check that out for yourself below.
The heads-up display has been redone, the graphics are positively nostalgic, the music is fittingly retro, and every inch of the demake is essentially handcrafted.
The Last of Us game director Neil Druckmann even took to social media to endorse the demake — as you can see below (via
