There is, perhaps, no PlayStation game more anticipated than Naughty Dog's
The Last of Us Part II, and now we've got more evidence that the highly anticipated sequel to 2013's blockbuster hit could arrive in 2019.
As
spotted by numerous eagle-eyed fans, The Last of Us Part II has been listed as "coming soon" or under the "coming soon" category tab on various different official PlayStation websites - mostly coming from the European branches of the brand. According to Comic Book, PlayStation UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Italy arms have the game all listed as "coming soon," though that's admittedly a vague phrase that's open for interpretation. Still, most people would presume "soon" as at least coming this year and not 2020.
As some have pointed out,
The Last of Us Part II is listed alongside other games that have confirmed release dates for 2019, including
Rage 2,
Mortal Kombat 11, and
Days Gone. This would seem like an odd inclusion if The Last of Us Part II wasn't releasing sometime this year.
An intense, harrowing and emotional adventure awaits – Ellie and Joel return for an epic journey in the sequel to the critically acclaimed game by Naughty Dog.
Sony and developer Naughty Dog have been tight-lipped when it comes to the progress of The Last of Us Part II, but we should hear more about the game at E3 this summer. Even though Sony has opted to skip the traditional press conference format, we can probably expect some sort of livestream that features an update for the game.
While
The Last of Us Part II was initially expected to release for PlayStation 4, the lack of a concrete release date this late into the console cycle has led some to believe the game will instead launch on the next-gen PlayStation system. It's possible the game could be in development for both, however, similar to what Naughty Dog did with the original game when they released the game at the end of the PS3 and then a remastered version for the PS4.
